Andrea Drews aka Annie Drews is a professional volleyball player and Olympian, currently playing for the U.S. Women's National Team. Annie comes from a sport-loving family. Born to Carrie and Michael Drews, she played different sports before making her career in volleyball.

Annie joined the U.S. Women’s National Team in 2017 and the same year she helped the team win a gold medal at the 2017 Pan American Cup. Annie has represented the United States with his team on the international level many times, securing gold at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Apart from the Olympics, Annie has secured three gold medals with the U.S. Women's National Team at the FIVB Nations League in 2018, 2019, and 2021 where Annie was named the Most Valuable Player in 2019, China. In the same year, he was honored with the top female indoor volleyball player of the year by the USA Volleyball.

Annie’s parents are Carrie and Michael Drews. She was born in Muncie, Indiana, and grew up in Elkhart, Indiana along with her two siblings Derek and Erin. Annie’s brother Derek played basketball at Western Michigan while Erin is an artist.

Annie credits her parents for her success, saying "My family is a pillar of support for me.” Her parents were so proud of her when they secured a gold medal at the 2020 Olympics, in Tokyo. Even though they could not join her due to pandemic restrictions.

Her father Mike said "We're just very proud of the hard work that Annie has put into this and the sacrifices she has made” after her Olympic win.

Annie started playing Volleyball in 2008 with Network Juniors and progressed to youth clubs at Penn High School in Mishawaka, Indiana. Later she attended Purdue University and honed her skills with the Purdue University's women volleyball team from 2012 to 2015.
