With the 2024 Paris Olympics nearing, the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials is one of the most anticipated events before the quadrennial Games. These trials, scheduled from June 21 to 30, will determine the USA athletes who will be representing the nation at the Summer Olympics.

Hence, we will look at some of the top athletes who would be targeting their Olympic debut with some noteworthy performances at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials.

#1 Sha'Carri Richardson

American sprint sensation Sha'Carri Richardson has been listed to compete in the women’s 100m and 200m races at the upcoming trials. In 2023, she became the global champion in the 100m event and clinched the bronze medal in 200m at the World Athletics Championships.

#2 McKenzie Long

McKenzie Long will be participating in the 100m and 200m races at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials. Long rose to fame after winning the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m events at the 2024 NCAA Division I Track and Field Championships.

#3 Christian Miller

The world U-18 record holder in the 100m, Christian Miller, has been registered in the men’s 100m and 200m races at the U.S. Track and Field Trials. In 2024, he formerly held the world lead in the 100m race with 9.93s, which he clocked at the PURE Athletics Elite Invitational.

#4 Courtney Lindsey

Courtney Lindsey is set to feature in the men’s 100m and 200m sprint events at the trials. Having clocked a 19.71 time in 200m at the Kip Keino Classic this year, he is certainly one of the athletes to look out for at the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials.

#5 Quincy Wilson

16-year-old Quincy Wilson has been brilliant in the 2024 Olympic season, constantly clocking around the 45.00s mark in 400m, which makes him one of the youngsters to watch out for.

#6 Yared Nuguse

Yared Nuguse will feature in the 1500m and 5000m events in a bid to make it to his first Olympic team in Paris. In 2024, Nuguse’s most recent event was the Prefontaine Classic in May, where he finished third in the mile with a 3:46.22, only behind Josh Kerr and Jakob Ingebrigtsen.

#7 Nico Young

Nico Young, the two-time NCAA indoor champion, has been listed to participate in the 5000m and 10000m races as he aims to be a part of the USA squad for his first Olympic Games in Paris.

#8 Rachel Glenn

In 2024, Rachel Glenn became the NCAA Indoor champion with a career-best mark of 2.00 and will be heading into the trials as the best performer in the women’s high jump during the qualification window.

#9 Laulauga Tausaga-Collins

Laulauga Tausaga-Collins is one of the prominent names in the women’s discus throw and will look to secure her place in the USA squad for her first Olympic Games. She is the reigning world champion in the event.

#10 Anna Hall

Anna Hall is another top athlete to watch out for at the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials as she aims to secure her spot in heptathlon. Hall’s best achievements so far are being a two-time World Championships medalist.
