Ben Davison is an American rower representing the United States. Born on July 24, 1996, in Durham, Great Britain, he is 28 years old and resides in Oakland, California. Ben primarily competes in the Men’s Double Sculls.

Ben has achieved notable success in his rowing career. He earned fourth place in the Men’s Eight at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics with a time of 5:26.75. At the World Championships, he was fifth in the Men’s Eight in 2019, eighth in the Men’s Single Sculls in 2022, ninth in the Men’s Double Sculls in 2017, and 13th in the same event in 2023. He also competed in the Men’s Double Sculls in 2018, finishing 14th.

Ben has also competed in the World Cup events where he achieved second place in the Men’s Double Sculls in 2023 and third place in the Men’s Single Sculls in 2022.

Ben Davison is the son of Terry and Sarah and grew up alongside his brother Joe. Growing up, Ben played soccer and cross-country running. However, he decided to try rowing influenced by his older brother Joe, who participated in rowing.

Ben was born in Durham, England, spending his early years in a small town in the northeast. His parents moved to Florida, USA, when Ben was just 10 years old. The decision to move to Florida was to provide Ben and his older brother with broader life experiences and to explore new opportunities and cultures.

In an Interview with olympics.com, Ben recalled his early days were filled with excitement and challenges, saying:

"We were from quite a small town in the northeast of England, so I knew all the local kids and had lots of friends."

Ben’s father is Terry Davison. He played an important role during the initial years of Ben’s rowing journey. Terry was the rowing coach of Ben’s high school rowing team. From age 15 to 18 when Ben struggled to learn new rowing skills, his dad guided and encouraged him.
