After losing the opportunity to compete at the Toyko Olympics and proving her prospect at the 2023 World Championships, Sha'Carri Richardson is all set to compete at the Olympics Trials to secure a berth for the 2024 Paris Games. Richardson will compete in the 100 and 200m sprinting events in Eugene.

Richardson clinched the gold medal in the women's 100m at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest after clocking a whopping 10.65 seconds to leave behind the Jamaican favorites Shericka Jackson and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce. Moreover, the American sprinter also grabbed a bronze medal in the 200m, trailing behind Jackson and Gabby Thomas, clocking 21.92 seconds.

The world champion competed in her Olympic season's first race at the Xiamen Diamond League in the 200m. She was placed second after clocking 22.99 seconds, leaving behind her fellow teammates Tamara Clark, Anavia Battle, and Twanisha Terry, who clocked 23.01, 23.02, and 23.25 seconds, respectively.

Seven days later, at the Shanghai Diamond League, she settled in third place, registering 23:11 seconds, behind Daryll Neita and Battle. However, the American sprinter left her fellow teammates Terry, Clark, and Caisja Chandler behind.

Richardson's performance in the 200m stands out against her American competitors, making her an absolute favorite to win the event at the Trials. She further stunned the fans at the 2024 Prefontaine Classic, where she competed in her 100m season opener, clocking 10.83 seconds.

Other American sprinters, including Melissa Jefferson, Twanisha, and Brittany Brown trailed behind Richardson, making her the frontrunner in the event where she grabbed a World Championships gold medal.

With less than 40 days remaining for the 2024 Olympics, Richardson has cemented her prospects as a promising sprinter to represent the USA in Paris.
