Chiaka Sylvia Ogbogu was born on 15th April 1995 and is a professional volleyball player from America. Born in New York to Nigerian immigrants Victoria and Henry, Ogbogu moved to Dallas shortly after birth. She majored in health promotion with a minor in human development and family sciences. Off the court, Ogbogu is an interior designer and enjoys playing the piano and painting.

Ogbogu’s volleyball journey began at Coppell High School where she led her team to two consecutive Texas state championships in 2011 and 2012. She continued her athletic career at the University of Texas at Austin becoming a three-time AVCA First Team All-American and setting school records for most blocks and block assists.

Professionally, Ogbogu has played for clubs in Italy, Poland, and Turkey, starting with Il Bisonte Firenze and currently with VakıfBank. She made her debut for the U.S. Women’s National Team in 2018. Her accomplishments include gold medals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the 2019 and 2021 FIVB Volleyball Nations League, and silver medals at the 2019 FIVB World Cup and the 2023 NORCECA Continental Championship.
