American professional rock climber Colin Duffy was born on December 10, 2003, and specializes in competitive climbing. Notably, he became the youngest climber to earn a spot in the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo at the age of 17.

At the age of fifteen in 2019, Duffy completed two 5.14c (8c+) graded sport climbing routes at the Red River Gorge, Pure Imagination, and Southern Smoke, as well as the 5.14a (8b+) graded sport route Omaha Beach, in a single day. Two days later, he completed the 5.14a (8b+) route of God's Own Stone. Notably, Duffy placed second in the 2019 IFSC Climbing World Youth Championships after winning the event twice in 2017 and 2018. He also held the title of USAC Youth National Champion ten times.

In the Villars, Switzerland, leg of the 2021 IFSC Climbing World Cup, Duffy finished third in the lead and earned his first medal in the competition. He went to the championship round of the sport climbing event at the Tokyo Olympics and was placed seventh. He climbed Life of Villains, a 5.14d (9a) graded sport route, for the first time in November 2021. Additionally, Duffy has resolved a V14 (8B+) grade bouldering issue. However, this did not stop him from earning a spot at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

For almost his whole climbing career, Robyn Erbesfield-Raboutou has been Colin Duffy's coach. He started training under Raboutou at the age of eight.

Robyn Erbesfield-Raboutou is an American rock climber and coach who was born on August 8, 1963. She is a four-time World Cup champion (1992, 1993, 1994, 1995) and the1995 World Championship winner in competitive lead climbing. Notably, she is the third female climber in history to redpoint a sport climbing route rated 5.14a (8b+). Additionally, she has mentored several competitive climbers, including Margo Hayes, Megan Mascarenas, and Brooke Raboutou, her daughter.

Robyn Erbesfield-Raboutou’s Athletic Career

Robyn Erbesfield-Raboutou won the inaugural Climbing World Cup (Leeds, 1989). Additionally, she was able to secure sponsorships very quickly and embarked on a global tour to compete in the World Cup circuit. From 1992 to 1995, she went on to win the overall title in four consecutive World Cups.

Robyn Erbesfield-Raboutou's Coaching Career

Dedicated to helping young climbers develop their agility, balance, and coordination, she developed the Boulder, Colorado, climbing gym ABC Kids Climbing.

The team behind Margo Hayes, the first woman to climb a 5.15a (9a+) route, and Natalia Grossman, the 2021 bouldering world champion, was Team ABC. Moreover, Brooke Raboutou and Colin Duffy were two of the four American competitors who qualified for the 2020 Olympics in sport climbing.

Robyn Erbesfield-Raboutou's Notable Accomplishments

Among Robyn's many accomplishments is the fact that she was the third woman in history to complete the 8b+ (5.14a) Silence Vertical in France in 1993. In 1993, Robyn became the first female to see both an 8a (5.13b) and an 8a+ (5.13c).

In addition to her World Cup and World Championship triumphs, she also won the Rock Master in 1994.
