Dania Vizzi is an American sports shooter who was born on March 24, 1995, in Odessa, Florida, United States. She wanted to pursue a career in dance and was qualified among thousands of applicants for the Juilliard Dance Intensive, which is one of the most famous dance schools in New York City. However, she shifted her focus to shooting after being inspired by her father who is also a shooter.
Vizzi, who also goes by the name ‘Shooterina’, specializes in the skeet ranges and has bagged several medals since 2015. She is a three-time World Cup gold medalist (2022 World Cup, Lima, 2022 World Cup, Lonato, and 2023 ISSF Lonato World Cup), a silver medalist (2022 World Cup, Cyprus) and a bronze medalist too (2017 World Cup finals).
The 29-year-old has also claimed six medals in the world championship realm, of which four are gold and two silver. She clinched two golds in the 2017 world championship, one in the skeet women’s team, and an individual medal. She added another gold medal to her name in the 2019 World Championships and clinched her fourth one in the 2022 World Championships. Along with this, she also grabbed two silver medals (2017 and 2023) and one bronze (2015) in the World Championship.
Vizzi has competed several times in the Pan American Games and recently won gold in the 2023 iteration of the event. She pursued her education at the University of Florida in marketing and will be seen next in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
