Hailing from Northfield, Illinois, United States, Grace Joyce is making her Olympic debut with the USA women’s rowing team in Paris in 2024. She initially played soccer but changed her sport to rowing when her older sister convinced her to try out for the high school rowing team at New Trier High School. Throughout her high school years, she ranked seventh at the Head of the Charles in juniors eight in 2015 and eighth at the Youth Nationals in the lightweight eight in 2016.
Grace Joyce then rowed for the Wisconsin Badgers women’s team at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and earned Freshman MVP Award in 2017. She also earned the Academic All-Big Ten Award in 2019.
