Grant Koontz is a Professional road and track cyclist hailing from Houston, Texas, USA. He currently resides in Boulder, Colorado. Koontz completed high school at Klein High School in Klein, Texas, and then went on to complete his graduation from Texas A&M University with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Sciences.

On an amateur level, he played for teams including Southern Elite, Super Squadra–AustinBikes, Bissell–ABG–Giant, Team Arapahoe Resources, Support Clean, DNA Racing, and Marc Pro CT from 2012 to 2019. He made his professional team debut in 2018 with Holowesko Citadel. He has earned prominence for his performances in national and international competitions including winning the UCI Track Champions League in 2022. He is a 4-time Pan American Champion, two-time Pan American bronze medalist, 5-time USA Elite National Track Champion, and Annual Madison Cup Champion. In 2024, he qualified to represent the USA at the Paris Summer Olympics in the Scratch race.

Grant Koontz is 30 years old as of August 2024. He was born on January 28, 1994, in Houston, Texas. A sporting enthusiast since a young age, Koontz had begun making waves in cycling during his college career. At the age of around 18, he worked as a bike technician and in the sales department of Sun and Ski Sports on a part-time basis for more than a year. Thereafter, he served Aggieland Cycling & Fitness for two years in bicycle mechanics, sales, and maintenance while pursuing his degree from Texas A&M University, where he graduated in 2016.

He began working as a cycling coach with Trinity Multisport in 2014, at the age of 20. There, he trained in triathlon, road cycling, mountain biking, and cyclocross for students in the age group of 8 to 14. During his senior year at the college, he served as the Road Race Director at Texas A&M University, where he helped design and implement road bicycle races. Alongside his cycling ambitions, Koontz also worked as a supply technician with UPS for about a year alongside his graduation in the night shift. Upon graduation, he worked alongside numerous teams in his amateur and professional cycling career. Besides this, he also worked at Jacob Springs Farm for two years from the age of 23 to 25.
