Gyulai István Memorial 2024: Athletes to watch out for
#1 Shericka Jackson
Shericka Jackson will line up in the women's 200m at the Gyulai István Memorial 2024 after qualifying for the Paris Olympics at the Jamaican Olympic Trials last week. Although she has been relatively slow over the distance this year with less competition at the Jamaican Trials, the Olympic medalist would surely be eying to go sub-22 on July 29. She has a personal best of 22.29s this season.
#2 Kishane Thompson
Kishane Thompson is the fastest 100m athlete of the 2024 outdoor season after he clocked 9.77s to qualify for the Paris Olympics at the Jamaican Trials. His coach, Stephen Francis, claimed that he could have run 9.6, and it would be interesting to see how he goes about his business at the Gyulai István Memorial. Thompson will have Letsile Tebogo and Akani Simbine as his top competitors at the race.
#3 Tia Clayton
Tia Clayton is the sixth fastest 100m runner of 2024 in the women's competition. She ran an impressive 10.86s at the Jamaican Olympic Trials and would be looking to maintain that speed ahead of the Paris Olympics 2023, if not better it. Clayton is one of the medal contenders in Paris and could be a threat to Sha'Carri Richardson's gold medal ambitions.
