Haleigh Meridian Washington is a renowned American Volleyball player born on September 22, 1995, in Denver, Colorado. She represents the United States women's volleyball national team and plays the position of a middle blocker.

Washington’s passion for volleyball emerged while playing for her seventh-grade team. She started her High School as a freshman at Clear Creek High School but after her family relocated to Colorado Springs, she completed her High School career at the Doherty High School. There, she set a state record with 48 kills in a single match. Her high school achievements are quite commendable as it includes consecutive Colorado Volleyball Player of the Year honors in 2012 and 2013. In 2012, she led the team to a State Championship. In 2013, she was named Volleyball Magazine National National Player of the Year. She attended her college at Penn State. During her college career, she was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year and also helped her team the 2014 NCAA National Championship. She also earned three-time AVCA All-American Honour and the 2017 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year award to her name. She was also a nominee for the Honda Sports Award in her final year.

In her professional career, Washington has played for multiple Italian series A1 teams including Igor Gorgonzola Novara and Savino Del Bene Scandicci. During the 2019 Tokyo qualification tournament, Washington secured the team's bid for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She was named to the 12-player Olympic roster for the Tokyo Games in June 2021. Her contribution as a starting middle blocker helped the USA National volleyball team clinch their first Olympic gold medal in women's volleyball. This contribution earned her the title of the best middle blocker of the tournament.
