She started her High School as a freshman at Clear Creek High School but after her family relocated to Colorado Springs, she completed her High School career at the Doherty High School. There, she set a state record with 48 kills in a single match. Her high school achievements are quite commendable as it includes consecutive Colorado Volleyball Player of the Year honors in 2012 and 2013. In 2012, she led the team to a State Championship. In 2013, she was named Volleyball Magazine National National Player of the Year. She attended her college at Penn State. During her college career, she was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year and also helped her team the 2014 NCAA National Championship.
