He clinched the CIF Division One Championship in 2016 as a high school student at Orange Lutheran High School in Orange, California. During his graduation, he achieved several milestones, including being named the MPSF Newcomer of the Year, earning All-America honours, and becoming a remarkable scorer for USC as both a freshman and sophomore. In 2020, Team USA finished sixth at the Tokyo Olympics with the assistance of Hannes. He also helped Team USA to win the bronze medal at the 2024 World Cup and silver at the 2022 FINA World League Super Final.
