Born October 18, 1984, Lindsey Caroline Vonn is a former US Ski Team alpine ski racer and World Cup athlete. She has four World Cup titles to her name. Vonn became the first American woman to win a gold medal in slopestyle at the 2010 Winter Olympics. She also broke records downhill, winning eight World Cup wins in one season (2008–2013, 2015–2016), five Super-G wins (2009–2012, 2015), and three combined wins consecutively (2010–2012). Her 20th World Cup crystal globe victory in 2016 broke the record set by Swedish player Ingemar Stenmark, who won 19 globes between 1975 and 1984 for both men and women combined. Out of all the skiers, male or female, she holds the third-highest super ranking.

Vonn is one of just six women to have won 82 World Cup races over her career in the five disciplines of alpine skiing: giant slalom, slalom, downhill, and super combined. Until January 2023, Mikaela Shiffrin had the women's record with 82 World Cup victories. Vonn is only surpassed in World Cup victories by Sweden's Ingemar Stenmark and Shiffrin, each with 86 wins. Vonn is regarded as the greatest skier of all time and one of the most successful American ski racers with her four World Cup titles, two gold medals from the 2009 World Championship (plus three silver from 2007 and 2011), and her gold and bronze medals from the Olympics.

In addition to being named the Laureus Sportswoman of the Year in 2010, Vonn was also named the United States Olympic Committee's Sportswoman of the Year. Due to injuries, Vonn missed a large chunk of several seasons, including the majority of the 2013 and almost all of the 2014 campaigns. While healing from an injury, she covered the 2014 Winter Olympics for NBC News in Sochi, Russia. When she announced her retirement in 2019, she mentioned her health issues.

Skier Lindsey Vonn, who is retired, is renowned for being the "queen of speed," particularly for her prowess on the slopes. In the aforementioned category, Vonn became the first-ever American woman winner in 2010. The 38-year-old skier, who has won 43 downhill races, set yet another incredible record earlier this year when he fell at Kitzbühel's Streif, the epicenter of downhill. The three-time Olympic gold medalist reached 62 miles per hour (100 km per hour) on the 3,312-meter downhill in the evening. Vonn's 15-year career has included several bone-chilling slopes, but she has never been afraid. She misses those sensations now that she is retired.

TV personality Jay Glazer recently posted a video of Lindsey Vonn listening in on their talk from Unbreakable: A Mental Health Podcast. The renowned skier talked about whether or not she had any anxieties when plunging down a mountain in her sport during that interview.

Vonn said in the interview that fear is what motivates athletes to push themselves to the limit to win titles. Fear has never stood in the former skier's path of success. Being an expert in the downhill division, Vonn clarified that a skier must be aware of their limit when skiing downhill. They ought not to exert more effort than that.

Vonn also talked about how her lack of fear while skiing sets her apart from the others. The exhilaration of speeding down the slopes is enjoyed by the skier. Vonn regrettably misses the surge of excitement that comes with life after retiring in 2019. Indeed, there are numerous injury dangers when skiing. Vonn, on the other hand, is approaching it positively.

Vonn's inability to feel fear has strengthened her as a person. The retired skier handled every circumstance with strength, whether it was her mother Linda Krohn's death in 2022 or her divorce from Thomas Vonn in 2013. Hopefully, Vonn will keep moving forward in life with her courageous attitude.
