
William Coleman III is an American equestrian. He began his riding career at age six with his Shetland Pony, TJ, in the Virginia hunt fields, exploring multiple disciplines. His passion for eventing grew after attending a clinic with Karen and David O’Connor, eventually working for them during summers.
In 2001, Coleman won individual gold at the North American Youth Championships. Riding his Irish sports horse, Fox In Flight, he became the first U.S. athlete to win the Bramham CCI4*-L in 2003, debuting in CCI5*-L at Burghley the same year and being shortlisted for the 2004 Athens Olympics.
In 2012, he and his Westphalian gelding Twizzel competed at the London Olympics as part of the U.S. Eventing Team. Coleman participated in his first World Championship at the 2018 FEI World Equestrian Games in Tryon, NC, with Tight Lines. They contributed to the U.S. team's silver medal at the 2022 FEI Eventing World Championship in Italy.
