Joe Rau is an American Greco-Roman wrestler currently competing in the 97 Kg weight class and is known for his accomplishments on the international stage while representing the United States. Remarkably, Rau is a two-time U.S. World Team member (2014, 2019) and a three-time Pan American Championships Gold medalist (2015, 2020, 2023). In addition to that, he has also claimed medals at multiple Grand Prix Opens.


Rau’s wrestling journey began in his home state, Illinois, where he excelled at the high school and collegiate levels. Moreover, Rau was a three-time NCAA Division III All-American at Elmhurst College and was the recipient of many accolades such as Conference Wrestler of the Year, and Elmhurst College Athlete of the Year.


He has since been a famous name among the fans of Greco-Roman wrestling and is set to represent the United States at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
