John Jayne, born on March 4, 1997, is the highest-ranked American in the world judo rankings at 32nd in the 90kg category. Jayne started his judo career at the age of three and represented Great Britain until 2013. He was born and raised in London but holds triple nationality – British, Bulgarian, and United States. He won cadet national titles for both Bulgaria and Great Britain in 2012.

Competing in the 90 kg weight class, Jayne has represented the United States on the international stage since 2013. He pursued a degree in mathematics at the University of Chicago and was also a standout in judo and wrestling.

As of 2024, Jayne remains one of Team USA's highest-ranked Judoka globally and won three medals at the Senior Pan America-Oceania Championships. Now 27, Jayne will be heading to his first Olympics after winning a bronze at the Pan America Oceania Championships.
