Jonas Ecker is a Canoe Sprint from Bellingham, Washington. He was born on the 26th of October, 2002. Jonas attended Sehome High School and graduated in 2021. He went to the University of Washington and majored in Marine Biology and minored in Chemistry.
At the 2018 U.S Nationals Jonas won the Gold medal in the U16 MK1 5000m event.
He also placed fourth in the U16 MK1 1000m, U16 MK1 500m and U16 MK1 200m events. The following year, he competed at the U18 age group bracket at the National winning gold medals at the MK1 1000m, MK2 1000m, and MK2 200m events. Jonas also won silver medals in the MK1 5000m, MK1 500m and MK1 200m.
He competed at the 2019 Olympic Hopes Regatta winning the bronze medal in U17 MK1 500m. Jonas will be competing in the MK1 1000m and MK2 500m events at the 2024 Paris Olympics. In 2022, he took part in the Pan-American Championships winning a gold and bronze medal In the MK2 500m and MK1 1000m events respectively. Jonas also participated at the U23 World Championship winning the bronze medal in MK2 500m. This same year at the U.S. team trials, He completely swept the Gold medal for 2022 for MK1 1000m, MK1 500m, and MK1 200m. His hobbies include skate skiing, backpacking, hiking and cycling.
