Jourdan Delacruz is poised to represent the US on the Olympic stage for the second time in Paris. She made her Olympic debut in Tokyo 2020. She is an American weightlifter who was born on May 20, 1998, in Wylie, Texas. She recently became the first woman to hold three records in two different weight classes, 49 kg & 55 kg concurrently, which were the American record in snatch (89 kg), American/PanAm record in clean & jerk in 108 kg, and it total in the 195 kg weight class.

Along with this, she is also the three-time Pan American Champion (2019, 2020, and 2023) and a gold medalist in the 2020 Roman World Cup. She currently holds 9 American records and 2 Pan American records. She also won a bronze medal in the 49 kg weight class at the 2023 Riyadh World Championships.

Delacruz qualified for the Paris Olympics to compete in the 49 kg weight class after her bronze medal win at the 2023 IWF World Championships. She is determined to produce a victorious performance in Paris, drawing motivation from her Tokyo Olympic performance, where she did not attain a podium finish.

Along with this, she is reportedly inspired by her personal goals and experience to pursue weightlifting at an elite level. To reduce her physical and mental pressure, she focuses on what she wants out of the sport, and it automatically helps her in avoiding the impacts of physical and mental pressure. She is specifically proud of her recent win, where she bagged her first World Championship medal.

Jourdan Delacruz looked up to Morghan King when she was younger, however, now King is her teammate and a competitor too. One of her biggest cheerleaders are her parents, friends, and coaches.
