Born on August 17, 1997, Justin Best is an accomplished American rower. He represented the United States in the men's eight event at the 2020 Summer Olympics.

Best's athletic career began in middle school where he initially played football. However, a concussion forced him to reconsider his sporting choices. Being inspired by the rowing scenes in the movie The Social Network, his parents encouraged him to take up the sport. He joined the Newport Rowing Club and soon found his passion for the sport. Best then joined the Unionville High School in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, and was instrumental in petitioning the local school board to add rowing as a club sport. He went on to compete at the national level. Best was part of the men's eight that won a silver medal at the World Rowing Junior Championships in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 2015.

Best pursued higher education at Drexel University, majoring majored in business and engineering. He contributed to their dominance at the Dad Vail Regatta as a member of the Drexel Dragons rowing team and helped the team secure title all four years. Best also competed for the U.S. National U23 squad in 2018 and 2019. He was selected to compete in the men's eight event at the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics. Beyond his athletic pursuits, Best worked as an investment analyst after graduating from Drexel.
