Kara Michelle Kohler is an American professional rower. Born in Clayton, California, Kara Kohler was a competitive swimmer at her high school, where she took part in the 2008 Janet Evans Grand Prix Swim Meet held at USC and the 2008 Pacific Swimming North America Cup Challenge. During her sophomore year in high school, one of her family friends recommended she try rowing at the collegiate level and took her to the University of Berkeley, where Kara Kohler started her rowing career.

In 2019, Kara Kohler was named US Rowing’s Female Athlete of the Year. Kara Kohler has been a four-time All-American, she was also named the Pac-10 Conference Newcomer of the Year in 2010 and achieved Cal’s Most Promising Award. One of her remarkable achievement is bronzemedal which she won at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the quadruple sculls event.
