Margaret Ann Steffens, known by her nickname Maggie Steffens, born on June 4, 1993, is a professional water polo player. Hailing from San Ramon, California, United States, Maggie is the daughter of Carlos Steffens and Peggy Schnugg. She has one brother, Charlie, and two sisters, Jessica and Teresa. She is the co-owner of 6-8 Sports, a platform that combines data and technology to support the growth of young athletes, currently focusing on water polo.

Maggie began her water polo career at Monte Vista High School in Danville, California, USA. In 2013, she enrolled at Stanford University and achieved a second-place finish in the NCAA Championships. She later emerged victorious in the 2014, 2015, and 2017 NCAA Championships. In addition, she was awarded the title of FINA World Player of the Year in both 2012 and 2014.

Maggie made her Olympic debut at the 2012 London Olympics, where she won her first gold medal alongside her older sister, Jessica Steffens. Following that, She consecutively won two more gold medals by competing in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics and the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. She broke the world record for most goals scored by a single player in women's water polo during the 2020 Summer Olympics. In 2024, she will represent the United States for the fourth time at the Paris Olympics in France.
