Maria Celia Laborde is an American judoka fighter who was ideally born in Cuba on 2nd August 1990. She has marked her territory in the world of judo. When she competed for Cuba, Laborde earned a bronze medal at the 2014 World Judo Championships in Chelyabinsk. After years of misfortunes, Maria decided to change her citizenship from Cuban to American in search of better opportunities. In 2022 she got a green signal to represent the USA as she was officially a citizen of America. She announced her loyalty to the U.S. by winning a bronze medal at the 2023 Pan American Games which were held in Santiago. Maria Laborde has embedded her name in the world of judo with the kind of dedication and persistence that shows her capabilities.
