She started her Journey at the age of 13. In her hometown, she entered her first skateboarding competition marking the start of a promising career. She turned professional in 2016 for Meow Skateboards. She joined a talented roster that included Leo Baker, Vanessa Torres, and Adrianne Sloboh. She clinched her first gold medal at the X Games in Minneapolis in 2018.

Duran was named one of the 16 inaugural members of the U.S.A. Skateboarding National Team in March 2019. She was announced as part of the first-ever U.S. Olympic skateboarding team on June 21, 2021. Duran competed in the Women's Street division at the Tokyo Olympics. She was placed 13th in the preliminary round and did not advance to the final.
