Born to Kim and Angie Holt in Cincinnati, Ohio, Max Holt is an American professional volleyball player. He plays as a middle blocker for the US National team and has squared off in coveted events his entire career. From Olympic Championships to NORCECA Championships, he has conquered every event with his prowess.

Holt completed his college from Pennsylvania State University and shortly after, he was selected to play for the US national team in 2009. He was named USAV’s Male Indoor Most Improved Player in 2013. In 2007, he competed in the FIVB U21 World Championship for the US Men’s Junior National Team and clinched a gold medal in the 2009 Pan American Cup. He went to the 2012 Olympic Games as an alternate and in 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, he earned a bronze medal.

He is a two-time FIVB World League medalist as he won a gold medal in the 2014 edition and a bronze medal and was named the best middle blocker in the 2015 edition. Along with this, he also won gold at the 2015 FIVB World Cup. He nabbed another gold in the 2017 NORCECA Championships, and was also named the best middle blocker. In the 2018 Volleyball Nations League Final Round, Holt won a bronze medal, and won another bronze in the same year’s World Championship.

In 2019, he was named the best middle blocker in two events, that is, Volleyball Nationals League Final Round, where he won a silver medal, and in the FIVB World Cup, where he also brought a bronze medal home. He also clinched a gold medal in the 2019 FIVB Tokyo Men’s Volleyball Qualification tournament.

Holt was also a part of the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games, where he came in 10th. He again qualified for the Paris Olympics after winning a gold in the 2023 Olympic Qualifier.
