Micah Ma'a is a senior basketball setter for Halkbank Ankara and the U.S. national team. He hails from Kaneohe, Hawai'i, and attended Punahou High School. He was 15 years old when he won the State Basketball Championship. In total, Micah won four state volleyball championships and was named the 2015 Hawaiʻi State Volleyball Player of the Year during his final year at Punahou.

In 2022, Micah joined the roster of the professional volleyball team, Halkbank Ankara, of Turkey and played in the CEV Champions League and Turkish Men's Volleyball League. He won the Turkish Championship in 2024. Micah has also played professionally in France and Poland, winning several championships. He co-founded Out of System, a volleyball, media, and events company.

In 2016, Ma'a, who attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), won the Server of the Year award from Off the Block, first-team All-MPSF, and AVCA first-team All-America during his rookie season. By his graduation in 2019, with a political science major, he had set a single-season record for the UCLA Bruins with 67 aces.

Throughout his career at UCLA, Ma'a achieved numerous accolades, including setting school records for service aces and earning multiple All-America selections. He played as a setter and outside hitter and was recognized for his performance in national and NCAA tournaments. Micah also participated in the USA Volleyball program and played club volleyball for Ka Ulukoa and Pacific Rim.

Micah Ma'a was born into a volleyball family with parents Pono and Lisa Strand Ma'a. They have three daughters and one son.

Micah Ma'a was the second of four children. Ahead of him was Misty Ma'a. Misty is an outside hitter volleyball player and is 6’1'' tall. She went to Kamehameha (Honolulu) High School and is currently into modeling. During her time with the high school volleyball team, Misty won the Gatorade State Player of the Year (2010), Impact Player of the Senior Invitational Tournament, and was a three-time HHSAA state champion (2008–2010). During her senior year, she helped the Warriors team to an HHSAA State Championship runner-up trophy. She majors in communications at the University of Miami.

Mehana Maa is the third child of Pono and Lisa Strand. Mehana is a UCSB alumni and experienced women's volleyball coach. She also loves talking about mental health and growth. She was born on December 2nd, 1999, went to Punahou School, and grew up in the Ko‘olau Mountains in Kane'ohe, Hawai‘i. She played varsity basketball and was a setter on the volleyball team. She studied communications at California State University-San Bernardino in 2018 and played for two seasons. The Coyotes went on a winning streak of 33-0 this season and won the DII National Championship in 2019. Mehana provided 675 assists in that same season. She later left to major in communications and media studies at UC Santa Barbara in 2021. Mehana now works as an assistant coach on a part-time basis with Rancho Valley Volleyball Club, Inc., and East Beach Volleyball Academy.

Maluhia Ma’a is the fourth child in Ma’a`s family. She is a model, an artist, a fashion designer, and a creative director. She works for the modeling agency Renew Artists Hawaii, an island-based company that specializes in model placement worldwide. Maluhia was born on March 9 and attended Kamehameha High School. She played for the Warriors, won the championship title in 2017, and got named among the honorable mentions in all states. Playing volleyball with the Kent State University women's team as an outside hitter while studying fashion and apparel design. Maluhia recorded 11 starts out of 17 matches played just in her freshman season. Her career-high performance came against Bowling Green in February 2021, where she had 14 digs.
