Quincy Wilson expressed gratitude to Dunkin' for sending him customized cupcakes in honor of his Olympic success. The 16-year-old made his Olympic debut in Paris and won the coveted gold as part of the men's 4x400m relay team.
At the quadrennian event, Wilson ran the opening leg in the men's 4x400m relay and clocked 47.27s to finish seventh when handing the baton to Vernon Norwood. The US finished third behind Great Britain and Botswana in 2:59.15 and qualified for the final.
Wilson did not run in the final where the Americans clocked an Olympic record time of 2:54.4, thus clinching gold
After etching his name as the youngest-ever US male track Olympic gold medalist at 16, Wilson took to his Instagram handle to flaunt a gift sent to him by Dunkin'. The American multinational coffee and donut company customized the cupcakes with Wilson's Olympic gold podium moment as the topping.
Donning a Dunkin' sweatshirt and pink bowl cap, the 16-year-old was seen smiling with the cupcakes on the table in front. His caption read:
"thank you @dunkin"
Quincy Wilson shared that his Olympic achievement was a dream come true and he was glad to have a great team.
"This was a dream come true. I didn’t run my best, but I knew I had a great team on my hands. I wasn’t nervous, I was 100% myself," said Wilson. (via Olympics.com)
Earlier this year, he ran the 400m dash in a national high school record of 45.76s at the New Balance National Indoors. The time would have earned him the fourth position at the 2024 World Athletics Indoor Championships.
Quincy Wilson joins Armory Track as a sprinting coach
