Quincy Wilson opens up on breaking World Record during Paris Olympics bid
Quincy Wilson was the youngest athlete in the Men's 400m line-up at the U.S. Olympic Trials. He broke the U18 400m World record twice in two days and spoke about the same in a post-race interview with Citius Magazine.
“I'm feeling great. I’ve never been this happy a day in my life when it came to track. I’ve been working for this moment. That record that I broke? That’s 42 years. 42 years of nobody being able to break that record. I broke it twice in two days. It means a lot to me because it means that my hard work has been paying off, staying longer after practices, before practices. I'm just excited for myself” he said.
Moreover, this feat earned him great praise from other legendary athletes as well, as his performance in the finals played a pivotal role in granting him a position in the Men's 4x400m relay team. Wilson will be making his Olympic debut in Paris later this month.
