Day 2 of the 2024 World Athletics Junior U20 Championships in Lima, Peru witnessed Jamaican athlete Alana Reid and South African sprinter Bayanda Walaza clinch the top places in women's and men's 100m events respectively. Day 2 of the World Athletics Junior U20 Championships featured multiple heats, qualifications, semifinals, and final rounds of track and field events.

The Championships are slated from August 27 to 31, 2024, at the Estadio Atlético de la VIDENA, Stadium in San Luis District, Lima. On that note let's take a look at the final results of Day 2 of the event.

Results of Day 2 of the 2024 World Athletics Junior U20 Championships

Alans Reid clinched a gold medal in the women's 100m after clocking a stunning time of 11.17 seconds on Day 2 of the World Athletics Junior U20 Championships. She defeated Adaejah Hodge and Kishawna Niles, who posted 11.27 and 11.37, respectively.

Bayanda Walaza dominated the men's 100m (10.19 seconds) dash event after surpassing Puripol Boonson and Bradley Nkoana recording 10.22 and 10.26, respectively.

China's Bingyang Han secured the gold medal in the women's discus throw with 57.57m, leaving behind her fellow teammate Jingru Huang, who recorded a total distance of 56.47m.
