Swimming events at the 2024 Paris Olympics are poised to be absolute must-watch showdowns. The action will commence on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the Paris La Defense Arena in Nanterre, France.

Elite swimmers, including rising young like Katie Grimes, Alex Walsh, Gretchen Walsh, and Torri Huske will compete against seasoned veterans with more than 3 editions of Olympic experience.

#5 Katarzyna Wasick will compete in her fifth Olympic Games

Katarzyna Wasick is set for her fifth Olympic Games appearance in Paris. The Polish swimmer represented her nation in the 2008 Beijing, 2012 London, 2016 Rio, and 2020 Tokyo Olympics. In Paris, she will be seen competing in the women's 50m freestyle event.

The 32-year-old, who secured two World Championships (LC) medals in 50m freestyle in 2022 and 2024, will hope to secure her first Olympic gold in Paris. She will face Simone Manuel, Gretchen Walsh, Shayna Jack, and Meg Harris.

Theodora Drakou will be competing in the 50m alongside Katarzyna Wasick at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The 32-year-old is awaiting her first Olympic medal after competing at the 2012, 2016 and 2020 Games. At the London Games, she finished in 16th place in the 50m freestyle and was eliminated in the first round in the 4x100 freestyle relay, falling short of a spot in the finals.

At the 2016 Rio Games, she had to settle in the 31st place in the 50m freestyle event. Four summers later at the 2020 Games, she settled for 11th place along with her Greek teammates in the mixed 4x100m medley relay.


#3 Satomi Suzuki

Satomi Suzuki enjoyed a successful run at the 2012 London Olympics. She won the silver medal in the 200m breaststroke, two bronze medals in the 100m breaststroke, and silver in the 4x100m medley event. She will compete in her third Olympic Games in Paris, vying for glory in the 100m and 200m breaststroke.

The 33-year-old swimmer became the oldest-ever Japanese swimmer, male or female to secure an Olympic berth. She clocked an impressive 2:23.09 in the 200m at the trials to qualify for the 200m breaststroke.

Honored as Barcelona's "Female Athlete of the Year" in 2015, Jessica Vall will represent the Spanish roster at the 2024 Paris Olympics to make her third appearance at the Summer Games. She will vie for the 100m and 200m breaststroke alongside Satomi Suzuki.

Vall will also lock horns with a few elite swimmers in the 100m and 200m breaststroke events, including Ella Ramsay, Jenna Strauch, Kate Douglass, Lilly King, and Emma Weber. The 35-year-old holds the national record in the 50m, 100m, and 200 breaststroke with 30.89, 1:06.44, and 2:22.56, respectively.


#1 Kristel Kobrich will be the oldest female swimmer at the 2024 Paris Olympics

38-year-old Chilean swimmer Kristel Kobrich will compete as the oldest female swimmer at the Paris Games. She is all set to compete in her sixth Olympic Games, becoming only the fifth swimmer to do so. She made her debut at the 2004 Athens Olympics.

She will face the likes of Katie Ledecky, Katie Grimes, Paige Madden, Ariarne Titmus, and Lani Pallister in the 800m and 1500m freestyle events.
