5th Avenue Mile Results: Josh Kerr secures the victory after shattering the long-standing course record

Josh Kerr displayed yet another stunning performance at the 5th Avenue Mile event, following his 2024 Paris Olympics victory. He notably secured a silver medal in the men's 1500m in the French capital.

There, Kerr clocked an incredible time of 3:27.79 to secure second place after a surprising victory over America's Cole Hocker, who posted 3:27.65. At the recent mile event held in New York on Sunday, September 8, 2024, the British Olympian secured victory after registering a stunning course record of 3:45s.

The 26-year-old surpassed Josh Hoey and Amon Kemboi, who registered 3:49 and 3:50, respectively. Kerr's recent course record shattered the long-standing previous record of Sydney Maree, who listed a remarkable 3:47.52 in 1981.

The event is recognized for its straight, fast course along one of Manhattan's most famous thoroughfares and earns a significant place in the annual road racing calendar.
