Simone Biles recently went down memory lane as she retraced her journey with Joscelyn Roberson as the two went from not knowing each other almost a decade ago, to performing together in various competitions. Roberson and Biles recently participated in the Gold Over America Tour, which concluded on November 3.
In a video shared on TikTok on November 9, Biles reminisced about when she got to know Roberson after she saw a clip shared by the latter's coach on social media. The video comprised a tweet Biles posted on April 22, 2015, alongside an old clip of Joscelyn performing a backflip.
"Im in awe (perfect) some 1 help me find this cutie. I wanna meet her, so she could teach me a thing or two #goals," the tweet read.
The video then transitioned to a recent clip of Biles and Joscelyn performing together at the Gold Over America Tour.
"9 years in the making," Biles captioned the video.
The video's caption highlighted them sharing the stage at the GOAT tour:
"& then we went on tour together."
Biles competed at the Paris Olympics this year and wrapped up the campaign with four medals, of which three were gold and one was silver.
Simone Biles got emotional after hearing Joscelyn Roberson's speech on the last day of G.O.A.T
Simone Biles launched the Gold Over America Tour after the 2020 Tokyo Olympics to celebrate the Olympians and their hard work. After her successful campaign at the Paris Olympics, where she clinched three gold medals and one silver medal, Biles, alongside several other gymnasts, performed across 30 different states in America during the second edition of GOAT, which commenced on September 16 at Oceanside and concluded on November 3 in Detroit.
On the final day of the tour, the 27-year-old teared up after receiving a bouquet and an emotional speech from Joscelyn Roberson on behalf of the entire team.
"From the girls, from your teammates, we love you and we can't wait for you to start a new future," Roberson said.
Following this, a visibly emotional Simone Biles replied:
"Thank you so much, Detroit. Stay golden. Bye."
On the final night of the tour, Biles reciprocated her teammates' gesture by taking them out for dinner in Detroit, Michigan.
