Paris Olympics 2024 opened to a drizzling start. For the first time in centuries, the opening ceremony for the Summer Olympics were being held outside the main venue, i.e. Stade De France. The opening ceremony went off without any major controversies, except for the Olympic flag being hoisted upside down.
However, the center of attraction was a mysterious hooded individual, who covered the length and breadth of the French capital to hand over the Olympic flame to French soccer legend Zinedine Zidane, who would further pass it to a number of sportspersons, who carried the Olympic flame towards the hot air balloon Olympic cauldron.
The post from the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics become viral, which led to an intense discussion on social media, especially X [formerly Twitter].
One fan simply mentioned,
"Someone Greatest among the French".
A fan page took a hilarious dig at the hooded figure as they posted:
"He has covered so much ground, it can only be [Ngolo] Kante."
Some were clueless even after the opening ceremony of Paris Olympics had come to an end. One observer wondered,
"Any answers? I watch 3 hours and I'm still guessing"
Another user took a dig at the character remaining masked until the very end of the opening ceremony of Paris Olympics. As per the fan:

"A character from Assassin Creed's Unity?" [via @sjfostersound]
While the person behind the hood and the mask at the Paris Olympics opening ceremony is yet to be named, viewers have begun connecting it to Arno Dorian, one of the most important characters in the much popular video game 'Assassin's Creed'.
The Assassin Creed's connection with Paris Olympics
Now some might be wondering : what does 'Assassin's Creed' have to do with Paris Olympics?
Well, this game is one of the sponsors of the Paris Olympics as well. Interestingly, the video game also gave a smart hint of Arno's arrival with the following tweet:
"Keep an eye on Paris' rooftops - Arno might just be watching from above" [via @assassinscreed]
Interestingly, Assasins' Creed has a cultural connection with France too. Long before the Paris Olympics, in 2007, Ubisoft [which created this game] launched 'Assassins Creed's : Unity', where Arno was a member of a revolutionary group, who would be a part of the French Revolution, where the 'assassins' would fight the remnants of the Knights' Templar.
