After becoming part of US SailGP Team's Board of Directors, Lindsey Vonn joins Anna Weis during a trip to New York

Following her inclusion on the US Sail GP Board of Directors, the former alpine skiing legend Lindsey Vonn spent a day with Olympian American sailor Anna Weis during her recent trip to New York City.

Vonn is known for being one of the trailblazers in alpine skiing. Vonn rose to prominence as a sports icon in her own right, winning 82 World Cup titles, eight medals in world championships, and three Olympic medals.

Apart from her numerous skiing milestones, Vonn is known for her involvement in multiple philanthropic activities, from being the founder of the Lindsey Vonn Foundation, which works for underprivileged girls, to promoting other sports for the sake of their growth.

This April, the United States SailGP Team stated in an official press release that they were delighted to welcome Vonn as a member of their Board of Directors. Vonn, in turn, said that she was thrilled to join Sail GP.

"I’m thrilled to join the Board of Directors for the United States SailGP Team. The energy and vision of the team aligns with the drive I have felt in my career, so I am extremely grateful and excited to take part," Vonn said. (via SAIL GP)

Now, the former Olympian has taken a trip to New York City, where she has tried her hands on sailing and joined 2020 Tokyo Olympian sailor Anna Weis and other team members. Vonn shared a streak of pictures from her New York escapades on her Instagram handle and wrote:

"What a weekend in NYC!! Had a chance to get on @sailgpusa‘s boat and do some grinding with @weisanna and the team! Being on the board of this team is incredibly rewarding."

Lindsey Vonn is known for backing several sports, like tennis, basketball, golf, etc., to promote them globally. Her popularity is so pronounced that Vonn keeps collaborating with influential personalities and organizations to benefit sports, and she has received a lot of appreciation for her efforts.

As in the recent one, Vonn serves as a member of the Athlete Team of Advisors for the Avenue Sports Fund. Avenue Sports Fund is the primary investor in SailGP, which was acquired by Ryan McKillen, Margaret McKillen, and two-time world champion sailor and now CEO of the U.S. SailGP Team, Mike Buckley.

Buckley expressed his delight in collaborating with Vonn, saying (via SAIL GP):
