Gretchen Walsh's sister Alex reacted to the former's world-record performances at the ongoing short course World Championships in Budapest. The 21-year-old has been in sensational form during the tournament, bagging four gold medals.
Gretchen Walsh has set six world records so far in the Hungarian capital. These include the 50m butterfly, the 100m butterfly, and more recently, the 100m individual medley. In the latter event, she clocked 55.11 seconds in the final to win gold, beating out compatriot Kate Douglass and France's Beryl Gastaldello.
The 21-year-old recently took to Instagram and shared an image of herself after the race, with her caption reading:
"Let's keep em coming I guess."
Alex Walsh reacted to her younger sister's post, stating:
"Yesss sugar mama."
Alex Walsh has also had an impressive run so far at the World Championships in Budapest, winning four medals. Individually, the 23-year-old won bronze in the 200m breaststroke event while finishing as the runner-up in the 200m individual medley.
She was also part of the team that won gold in the 4x200m freestyle relay by setting a new world record. Alex Walsh was also in the American 4x50m mixed medley relay team that clinched bronze.

Gretchen Walsh's world-record exploits at the World Championships in Budapest will see her bag bonus checks of an additional $25,000. Speaking to World Aquatics, the 21-year-old said that it was the culmination of all her hard work.
“It's definitely payday, or rather pay-week I guess... But I just think this is a lot of hard work culminating into one week. I feel like it was kind of a matter of time for me, just with this being my really first-ever short-course meet on a stage like this," Walsh said.
“I'm really thrilled with myself and the times I've been able to put up and just everything I've been able to accomplish because there's been a lot of work that went into it," she added.
Walsh has had an incredible 2024 so far, as she won four medals at the Paris Olympics, one of which was a silver in the 100m butterfly event. The American also won two golds as part of the teams that won the 4x100m medley relay and the 4x100m mixed medley relay. She also clinched a silver as part of the team that finished runners-up in the 4x100m freestyle relay.
