The men's 110m hurdles at the Paris Olympics saw some incredible races in the semifinals. Fueled by a loud audience and the promise of a chance to make history, eight sprinters managed to keep alive their dreams of a medal finish at the Games.
The action at Stade De France got off to a tense start, with Semifinals 1 featuring both Grant Holloway and Hansle Parchment. For the unaware, Holloway was the favorite to win gold in Tokyo, before Parchment usurped the reigning World Champion.
The American has since then redeemed himself on multiple occasions, and brought his trademarked fieriness to the track today, stopping the clock at 12.98s to top his race. Meanwhile, his Jamaican rival was pushed out of the top two by Spaniard Enrique Llopis, who ran a 13.17. However, Parchment will get a chance to defend his title, having qualified to the finals by time.
In Semifinals 2 of the Paris Olympics men's 110m hurdles, it was Rasheed Broadbell who stole the show. Running in lane six, the Jamaican stormed to a time of 13.21 after a lukewarm start to top the race. Behind him, America's Freddie Crittenden also booked a spot for himself in the finals, having come through the repechage rounds.
Last but not least, after a restart, Semifinals 3 saw Orlando Bennet and Daniel Roberts go head-to-head for a photo finish, with the Jamaican edging out the American by a difference of 0.01 seconds.
