Allyson Felix attended her daughter Camryn's classroom to volunteer after a long and tiring day at work. She also shared that a teacher's profession was always in her foresight.
Allyson Felix, the most decorated female track and field athlete, gave birth to her firstborn Camryn in an emergency C-section on November 29, 2018. When the Olympian went for a doctor's visit on the 32nd week of her pregnancy, she was diagnosed with preeclampsia, a serious high blood pressure condition that put her and her daughter's life at risk.
After birth, Camryn was transferred to the NICU because her heart rate was rapidly decreasing. Following her harrowing childbirth setback, Felix took up the task of advocating for Black maternal health. Cut to 2024, Camryn, now a six-year-old girl and often features in the 11-time Olympic medalist's social media posts. On December 19, 2024, the mother-daughter duo spent quality time in Camryn's classroom after Felix's training, as posted in the latter's Instagram story.
"After a long day at work, I got to volunteer at Cammy's class today."
The following story unveiled Felix's childhood passion for being a teacher since she always loved classrooms. The picture had children engaged in some activity while the teachers kept a watch.
"I always thought I was going to be a teacher. I love being in the classroom."
In a recent interview with People, Allyson Felix shared that her daughter has been trying sports like tennis and swimming, and she is encouraged to enjoy them without the pressure of choosing her passion.
"She's playing tennis, she's swimming, she's having fun, she's being a kid. And so I just want her to try everything and maybe she'll find something that she enjoys. All that matters is fun," the 20-time World medalist said.
Felix drew a line in her storied career after competing and winning gold and bronze at the 2022 World Championships.

Now an IOC Athletes' Commission member set to serve an eight-year term, Felix won hearts with the nursery she set up at the Olympic Village. In collaboration with Procter and Gamble, she promised to offer the best experience for competing parents and their kids.
Her creation benefitted several parent athletes who traveled to the Games with their kids. In an interview, Felix revealed that her experience at the Tokyo Games with her firstborn child, handling the little one single-handedly, planted the idea of doing something for parent athletes.
"It was just kind of an eye-opening experience. I took her everywhere that I was competing, and I kind of was surprised at how hard it was and how much you really had to shoulder on your own.” (via Los Angeles Times)
Felix and her husband Kenneth Ferguson welcomed a son, Kenneth Maurice Ferguson III, lovingly called Trey, on April 10, 2024.
