Gabby Thomas revealed that her alter ego with a killer instinct takes charge when she steps on the track to compete. Thomas started off her strong year with a 200m win at the 2024 London Diamond League, in the build-up to the Olympic Games in Paris.
Thomas balanced track and field with her medical studies, having graduated from Harvard University with neurobiology and global health. Besides competing on the track, she also serves at the Volunteer Healthcare Clinic, providing medical assistance to people for free. She also attained her master's degree in epidemiology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.
Otherwise sporting a bubbly personality, she shared how her alter ego with a killer instinct takes charge on the track. In the first part of the Sprint docuseries, the London Diamond League snippets were shared with Gabby Thomas lining up with St. Lucian Julien Alfred in the 200m.
While she warmed up before her feat, her voiceover said:
"On the track, I'm a whole different person. It's like an alter ego with a killer instinct that comes out." (39:40)
After clocking the fastest time and winning the race, the three-time Olympic gold medalist talked to the cast trackside, saying:
"Oh, I'm not sure I've ever had to fight quite that hard for a win. But that was like the Olympic final, so I'm happy with it."
Thomas' indoor clip, where she talked about her Olympic expectations, flashed next.
"Now i know in my heart that I can win the Olympic gold in Paris."
At the 2024 Paris Olympics, Thomas earned three gold medals in the 200m 4x400m, and 4x100m relay events.
