Femke Bol recently reflected on her 2024 track and field season as she looks to wind down after a hectic Olympic year. This comes just a few days after she concluded her season at the 2024 Diamond League finals in Brussels.
The Dutch athlete's 2024 season comprised numerous laurels, including the 400m World Indoor title. Participating in her second Olympic games, Bol clinched a bronze medal in the 400m hurdles at the Paris Olympics before adding two more Olympic medals in the relay events (gold in 4x400m mixed and silver in 4x400m women's).
Following her Olympics campaign, Bol enjoyed successful campaigns at the Diamond League and the European Athletics Championships. A week after her last track event of the season in Brussels, the 24-year-old took to her official Instagram handle to share a flurry of pictures from her 2024 track campaign.
In her caption, Femke Bol thanked her support staff and other team members while reflecting on all of her achievements across the season. She wrote:
"It’s been an absolutely crazy year full of moments I’ll cherish forever 🤩. From world indoor champion in a world record to defending our European titles, going sub51 on the 400 hurdles, to winning 🥇🥈🥉 at the Olympics and finishing it off as Diamond League Trophy winner in Brussels," she wrote.
She further added:
"The road to all of this has been just as beautiful as the achievements, thanks to my amazing team 🫶🏼Now it’s time for some rest, thank you for all the support, see you after holiday," Bol added.
Femke Bol ends 2024 track and field campaign on a high note in Brussels
Following victories at the Lausanne and Silesia Diamond League meets, Femke Bol registered another impressive performance in the Diamond League finals in Brussels as she successfully defended her 400m hurdles Diamond League title.
The 24-year-old clocked a run time of 52.45 seconds to win the 400m hurdles, beating Paris Olympics silver medalist Anna Cockrell who finished second behind the Dutch athlete with a run time of 53.71 seconds. Jamaica's Shiann Salmon finished third in the meet in 53.99 seconds.
With this victory at the Belgian capital, Femke Bol continued her unbeaten run in the Diamond League events this year. The Dutch athlete participated in five Diamond League meets this season and ended up winning all of them.
