Former NCAA swimmer Riley Gaines recently slammed ticketing website Eventbrite for canceling her speech promotion on its website, while allowing rallies that reportedly spread the messaging from Hamas — an Islamist political and military organization in the Gaza Strip.

Riley Gaines is set to deliver her speech at the University of California, Davis, on Protecting Women’s Sports. Initially, her event was listed for promotion on Eventbrite. However, days before the event, the company prohibited the event’s promotion on its website for violating its 'hateful content' policy.

However, the same ticketing website is believed to be allowing the promotion of Israel-Hamas crisis rallies that will, according to a report by Outkick.com, 'spread the messaging from the terrorist group Hamas'.

On learning about the cancellation of her event, Riley Gaines shared the aforementioned report on her X (formerly known as Twitter) account and called the website ‘anti-woman’ and 'pro-terrorist'. She wrote:

"Hey @eventbrite you're exposing yourself for what you are. Anti-woman and evidently pro-terrorism. Not a good look. I'll still speaking at UC Davis Nov 3rd. Our speech can't be stifled. Hope to see y'all there!"

As a result of Gaines’s X post, Eventbrite turned off its comment section. The 23-year-old highlighted the in her X page and captioned it:

"As expected and in a total cowardly fashion, @eventbrite has turned off their comments. It's almost as if they don't want people to know they're anti-woman."

Furthermore, Gaines drew the attention of her followers towards the recent pro-Palestine protests rally that took place at The Cooper Union. It reportedly forced several Jewish students to take shelter in the library as the police were unable to protect them, as per @jakejakeny on X).

Sharing the update, Gaines revealed that she had witnessed several instances of the same at San Francisco State University:

"This is what exactly what I endured at SFSU all the way down to the police being too scared to intervene. Crazy"

Earlier this month, Riley Gaines declared October 10 as the celebration of 'Real Women’s Day'. The swimmer explained on her social media that she was disheartened to see reputed sports channels like ESPN, celebrate Lia Thomas and other biologically male athlete’s victory during Women’s History Month in March.

Gaines believed that the day was meant to be for biologically female athletes and not for transgender athletes. She subsequently asked her fans to observe Real Women’s Day on October 10.

Gaines also celebrated the women suffering in the Israel-Hamas crisis. Showing solidarity with those women, she posted a picture wearing a Real Women’s Day cap. An excerpt from her tweet on October 10 read:

"I would be remiss if I didn't specifically say this day should be used to celebrate and honor the girls and women squarely in harms way because of the violence that has broken out in the Middle East and everything it has led to."
