“I think that unless you're in high performance sports striving for something like an Olympic gold medal, you can't really comprehend the work it takes and the trade-offs you make in your life. It takes a lot of work. I train between 35 and 40 hours a week. Every decision you make in your life is to ensure that you're recovered and ready to go for every session. I train out of a high school, it's incredible that a high performance program with athletes that are on the national team, that are winning an Olympic games train out of a secondary school in Western Brisbane.”

She further continued,

“And we have the younger swimmers train next to us everyday and they look up to us, and I think it's really important for them to see that we are training just like them. I want people to realise that no matter where you come from, whether you're male or female, whatever religion, race, that if you have a goal, if you have a dream, if you want to start something new, if you want to make change for the better, you can certainly achieve whatever you like, if you are willing to work hard and you believe in yourself.”

In May 2022 at the Australian swimming championships, Ariarne Titmus clocked a new world record in the 400-metre long course freestyle event. Her record was broken by the Canadian swimmer, Summer McIntosh but in 2023, she once again got hold of the record.

The sensational swimmer Titmus, in 2018, which was her advent on the bigger stage, secured four medals at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games - three gold medals and a silver. The same year also marked the 400-metre world record in short-course freestyle. With a long list of accolades, Ariarne Titmus has already become one of the best in her field.
