"As my mom would say, she has bounce back ability" - Noah Lyles heaps praise on girlfriend Junelle Bromfield following Paris Olympics 2024

Noah Lyles showered praise on his girlfriend and two-time Olympian Junelle Bromfield during his appearance on the Today show. While Lyles won the gold medal in the 100m at the Paris Olympics 2024, Bromfield didn't win any medals.

Lyles and Bromfield were friends for over six years before they started dating in 2022. The couple live and train together in Florida and regularly share glimpses from their personal lives. The two sprinters have credited each other for their success and mutual support.

Earlier this month, Lyles penned a heartfelt note for Bromfield on social media, lauding her ability to dodge the "pure disrespect and hatred towards her from her own country." The Olympic champion's statement came amid criticism of Bromfield from Jamaican fans after he claimed that his girlfriend kept him updated about the Jamaican sprinters

Following the Olympic Games, Noah Lyles appeared on Today Show and again praised Junelle Bromfield. He said:

"Junelle is a two-time Olympian, Olympic bronze medal winner, multi-world championship medalist. She's been running since she was eight, making teams for Jamaica. So, she's very talented in her own right. She ran at the Olympics this year in the open 400m and I'm so proud of her. Of course, she's a survivor. She is a fighter. She is savvy."

"As my mom would say, she has bounce back ability, and no matter what happens, she will be able to get up and come back," Lyles added.

Both Lyles and Bromfield won the bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and while the American sprinter's medal came in 200m dash, the Jamaican medalled in women's 4x400m relay. At the 2024 Olympic Games, Lyles defended his 200m bronze and took gold in the 100m dash. Bromfield didn't qualify for the women's finals and finished fifth in the 4x400m relay.

Noah Lyles and Junelle Bromfield met online in 2017 and it was the Jamaican sprinter who messaged first. They had frequent casual conversations and went on their first date in 2018. However, the date didn't materialize into a relationship until 2022 as both decided to be friends.

Lyles and Bromfield got back to talking after the 2020 Tokyo Olympics before the Olympic champion confessed his feelings after the 2022 World Championships. The couple announced their relationship the same year and now train together as well in Florida.
