The Australian Olympic Committee unveiled the Australian Athletics Team for the Paris Olympics by adding 55 athletes to the previously selected 20-member Athletics Team. The Australian squad will be headlined by the Tokyo Olympics silver medalist Nicola Olyslagers.
Olyslagers will be joined by Eleanor Patterson to represent the Australian squad in the high jump event. Jessica Hull, who set a new national record in the 1500m at the Paris Diamond League, will compete in her second edition of the Olympics.
Kelsey-Lee Barber secured a spot in the Australian Athletics Team to make her third appearance at the Games
Kelsey-Lee Barber earned her spot in the Australian Athletics Team to compete in her third Olympics. Despite a back injury, she competed in the 2016 Olympics, finishing in 28th place in the javelin throw.
She secured a bronze medal in Tokyo and will compete in Paris to transform it into gold. She will be joined by Mackenzie Little and Kathryn Mitchell. Torrie Lewis will compete in individual 200m and the 4x100m relay event along with Ella Connolly, Bree Masters, and Mia Gross.
