Recently crowned Olympic champion Gabby Thomas is all set to compete in her next race at the 776 Invitational. The event is slated for September 26, 2024, at the Icahn Stadium in New York.

Thomas clinched a gold medal in the women's 200m at the Paris Olympics after clocking a stunning time of 21.83 seconds. She surpassed the 100m champion Julien Alfred and her fellow teammate Brittany Brown, who posted 22.08 and 22.20, respectively, to achieve the feat.

Moreover, the American sprinter also grabbed two gold medals along with the team in the women's 4x100m and 4x400m relay events. Hot off achieving her career milestone, Thomas is all set to compete in the first edition of the 776 Invitational, the highest-paid track event only for female athletes.

She shared the news with her fans on social media. The three-peat Olympic gold medalist shared a few pictures from her training session at the Austin campus of the University of Texas and wrote,

"Back at it today! Next race ➡️ @athlos in New York on Sep. 26 🤗"

The 776 Invitational is organized by the legendary tennis player Serena Williams' husband Alexis Ohanian. He recently revealed that the winners of any of the six events at the Invitational will receive a specialized Tiffany crown as opposed to the traditional medals.

Thomas was accompanied by her boyfriend Spencer McManes, coach Tonja Buford-Bailey, and other family members. She was seen sharing a family dinner and exploring the streets of Paris. In an interview with People, she stated it was refreshing to celebrate the victory with loved ones.

"I spent the night in Paris with my friends and family," she said. "We went out to dinner, and I got to spend some time with them since I was so busy the whole time. It was so refreshing and just so nice and [I] got to celebrate having three medals."

Gabby Thomas ran exceptional third legs of 10.25 seconds in the 4x100m relay and 49.30 seconds in the 4x400m relay events.
