"Been a little while since i’ve genuinely been this happy" - Nebraska Volleyball's Taylor Landfair pens emotional note as she makes major announcement

Senior outside hitter Taylor Landfair of the Nebraska Volleyball team announced her return to her alma mater for her fifth-year eligibility. Landfair played an integral part in her team's Big Ten title win and NCAA Championships' Final Four qualification in the 2024 season.

Landfair unfurled her prowess in the game against Maryland, recording back-to-back kills in each set as her team took a share of the Big Ten title. Nebraska volleyball finished atop the Big Ten, tied with Penn State. Next, at the NCAA season, Landfair led with record kills to help her team advance to the semifinals, the team's seventh in a row and 12th under coach John Cook.

After losing to the Penn State Nittany Lions in the Final Four match-up, the Nebraska Volleyball team bid goodbye to seniors Lexi Rodriguez, who turned professional with LOVB Omaha, and Merritt Beason, who joined the Pro Volleyball Federation (PVF) club, Atlanta Vibe.

However, senior setter Taylor Landfair has now announced that she will continue with the Huskers in the next season. She took to Instagram to pen a heartfelt note which reads:

"To the 13 women who have helped me find my smile again, it’s been a little while since i’ve genuinely been THIS happy playing volleyball! it’s hard for me to not smile knowing i’m surrounded by a group of women who are some of the best athletes i’ve ever played with, but are even better human beings that have welcomed me onto the team with open arms! being on this team has made me laugh til i cry & my cheeks hurt from smiling so much! I love you all & can’t wait to run it back next year… you’re not done seeing #12 in RED yet."

Nebraska Volleyball's Taylor Landfair has amassed several accolades across her NCAA career. She was named the AVCA North Region Freshman of the Year in the 2020-21 season, AVCA North Region Player of the Year 2022, was included in the Academic All-Big Ten in 2020, 2021, and 2022, and was honored as Player of the Week several times.

After executing a stellar performance in the team's 3-0 win in the NCAA quarterfinals against Wisconsin this season, she credited her teammates while speaking to the media post-match. Landfair said (via 1011 Now),

"It's a real experience, but also I just had to put it onto my teammates. They're telling me, rip every single ball, I'm here to cover you. So, I just think at the end of the day, I'm here for my teammates, I'm here for my coaches, and they just give me so much confidence to do what I have to do."

Meanwhile, the Penn State Nittany Lions beat Louisville for the 2024 NCAA title.
