Harper Murray opens up on how leadership will be crucial after Merritt Beason and Lexi Rodriguez’s departure
After Nebraska's semi-final exit at the NCAA Championships, sophomore Harper Murray emphasized that leadership will be crucial in helping the team move forward. In her interview with Hail Varsity, she said:
“The leadership side of things is going to be big for us Merritt (Beason) and Lexi (Rodriguez) are leaving and we're going to need people to step up and that's something that I hope to step into. But more mentally, I think that's where the growth is going to come and physically, volleyball is a game of errors and momentum.” [1:15 onward]
In another interview, middle blocker Andi Jackson praised seniors Beason and Rodriguez, saying:
"The seniors are truly the most empowered selfless women that I have ever met…It has just been such an honor to play by their side and be their teammate and I am so proud to get to call myself Merritt and Lexi's teammate.” [5:48 onward]
Since this was the final year of the program for Merritt and Lexi, they will next be seen in action for Atlanta Vibe and LOVB Omaha pro volleyball teams.
