Bismarck Marathon 2024: Schedule, routes, and more

The 2024 Bismarck Marathon is scheduled to take place on September 21-22 in Bismarck. This will mark the 43rd edition of the marathon, spanning two days

The event will feature races of various distances, including the 5K, 10K, and the Bartlett and West Kids Marathon for children. Additionally, a dig run known as Bisbark will be part of the 2024 competition.

The event is one of the most prominent marathon events in the North Dakota region and is also a USATF (United States Track and Field) approved marathon. As such, it will serve as a qualifying race for the Boston Marathon, one of the six major marathon competitions around the world worldwide.

The marathon will award prize money to winners. The overall male and female champions will each receive $250, while the masters male and female will earn $150 each. Additionally, a $1,500 bonus will be awarded to anyone who breaks the course record.

Here is the complete schedule and order of events for the event:

Saturday (September 21):

  • 8:30 AM- 10 AM ET- Scheels 5K run
  • 8:30 AM- 10 AM ET- Sanford health 10K run
  • 10:30 AM- 11:00 AM ET- Barlett and West Kids marathon events (children's event)
  • 11:00 AM- 11:30 AM ET- 4K event Mandan Automotive Bisbark (dog's run)
  • 12:00 PM- 7:00 PM ET- Packet pickups at the Scheels Bismarck
  • 2:00 PM- 7:00 PM ET- Pub Crawl

Sunday (September 22):

  • 7:30 AM ET- Half marathon event (21.097 Kms)
  • 7:30 AM ET- Bismarck marathon (42.195 Kms)
  • 7:30 AM ET- Relay marathon event (42.195 Kms)
  • 2 PM ET- Course of the marathon closes

Bismarck Marathon 2024: Route of the marathon

The roadmap for the marathon is flat without any hurdles or steep surfaces. The marathon will start and end at the North Dakota State Capital grounds, in front of the Capital building. Water stations will be provided along the course. The marathon course will offer runners scenic views of the Missouri River.
