Bishop McCort wrestler Bo Bassett recently trained with former WWE champion, Bobby Lashley. This comes just a few months after Lashley launched his new show in September.
Through this new endeavor, the 48-year-old aims to explore the minds of young aspiring athletes at regional and state levels, and eight-time world champion, Bassett was Lashley's most recent guest.
Bassett took to his Instagram handle to share a glimpse of his interview with Lashley in his story. He also mentioned his experiences of meeting the former WWE and TNA legend. He wrote:
"Amazing opportunity! yesterday Bobby Lashley came into Johnstown to interview me for his new show, Phenom to Legends. It was great to get to know him and we even got to train together last night. I am so grateful for these opportunities."
Bobby Lashley left WWE in August after his contract ended with the company. During his time at the organization, Lashley faced numerous formidable wrestlers including Brock Lesnar. He has also won numerous titles including the WWE Championship and WWE Intercontinental Championship.
Bo Bassett sheds light on his collegiate recruitment
Bo Bassett recently updated about his collegiate recruitment process. This comes just a few days before he visited the IOWA State University on Sunday (Oct 28).
In an interview, Bassett revealed that he is trying to sort out dates with universities such as UPJ. He also mentioned that he is not looking to make any hasty decision until and unless he has visited all the schools.
He said (via On3):
"I am working on dates with Iowa State, UPJ, and a few other colleges. I will be pushing my recruiting into the spring. I am in no rush to make a really big decision until I get to see all the schools I may be interested in!”
As per reports from On3, Bassett is scheduled to visit prominent universities such as Penn State, Ohio State, Virginia Tech, and Oklahoma State in November. His addition to the roster will be highly beneficial for the university, especially with the experience he has of competing in the U17 World Championships.
The 19-year-old recently produced an impressive performance in the "Who's Number 1" event. He took part in the 149 lbs category and defeated Daniel Zepeda 12-6 convincingly.
