American swimmer Bobby Finke recently invited his teammate Caeleb Dressel for a pickleball match. This comes just a few months after they competed together at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Following the Games, Finke tried his hand at pickleball and was also recently spotted flexing his new paddles while practicing his skills in Florida. Just a few days later, he shared a picture of his new TYR Pro pickleball paddles on Instagram and challenged his senior teammate Dressel to a matchup.

Finke captioned the Instagram Story:

Dressel and Finke were training partners at the University of Florida before the start of the Olympic Games. Notably, they also competed for the Florida Gators during their collegiate career.

Caeleb Dressel credited youngster Bobby Finke while explaining the scarcity of fewer individual gold medals won by male swimmers at the Paris Games. Finke was the only male swimmer who won an individual event (1500m freestyle) at the Games.

In an interview with USA Today, Dressel explained that the United States didn't have the best week out there during the Paris Games. The 28-year-old further added that Finke's gold "bailed them out" in the French capital. He said:

"We know what the goal is when we go to worlds or Olympics: We want to be the best swim team here. And it's not that we had the worst week we've ever had. There's other countries that are also very good in the water. I don't think one Olympic cycle is going to define us. Bobby (Finke) bailed us out there at the end with the gold, so we're all good."

Finke also finished second in the 800m freestyle event behind Ireland's Daniel Wiffen. For his impressive performances in the event, Finke was honored with the Male Athlete of the Year Award at the 2024 Golden Goggles.

Caeleb Dressel on the other hand clinched two gold medals in the relay events (4x100m freestyle and 4x100m mixed medley).
