The American sprinting sensations Sha'Carri Richardson and Fred Kerley have come under the spotlight after their performances in the Shanghai Diamond League 2024. Both athletes participated in both legs of the Diamond League, however, they were unable to stand atop the podium. This has got the track and field enthusiasts to ponder about their form.
The Xiamen Diamond League was the first leg of the Diamond League 2024, where Richardson and Kerley participated in 200m and 100m respectively. Richardson clocked a time of 23.11 seconds claiming the third position at the event. Kerley also claimed the third position clocking a time of 10.11 seconds.
A track and field enthusiast, Track and Spice shared a tweet on their X account questioning the form of both athletes. He stated:
"Sha'Carri Richardson and Fred Kerley's form is concerning."
One of the netizens took a dig at both the athletes and gave their suggestions on what the athletes should do further. The tweet read:
"Both look like they are not ready, Fred never looks good running he has unorthodox form to begin with, Richardson is not ready yet l suspect she needs to get away from China and get back to training her 200 times are not good, but she looks not engaged in her stride phase."
Another track and field enthusiast questioning Kerley's form commented:
"Fred Kerley form has been concerning two years now."
On the contrary one user took the side of both athletes and stated:
"It's April. Yall got to chill..."
Another fan showcased their support for the athletes and stated:
"The week of June 21st is Olympic Trials. They got a little time."

Sha'Carri Richardson grabbed a silver medal in the 200m event at the Xiamen Diamond League. She clocked a time of 22.99 seconds and faced defeat from an Australian newcomer Torrie Lewis. She clinched gold with a winning time of 22.96 seconds.
Richardson missed multiple track meets to prepare for the Diamond League. However, she couldn't stand atop the podium and ended up with a silver medal. It was a prolific track battle between the athletes.
Richardson expressed herself about her season opener in a post-fight interview uploaded on Wanda Diamond League's YouTube channel and revealed she was nervous about the same (via The SportsRush):
"I feel really good about it being a season opener. It's kind of late for me in this season to open up. I was a little nervous, but once I got on track, it felt like home, so I felt really good with this first performance."
Now, the 200m phenom is focused on proving her prowess at the Paris Olympics 2024.
