Fans recently reacted to Katie Ledecky being criticized with transphobic remarks following her phenomenal victories at the 2024 Paris Olympics. So far, Ledecky has secured three medals in Paris.
The American swimmer clinched a gold medal in the 1500m freestyle event after surpassing the lineup with a massive lead, clocking an Olympic record of 15:30.02. She went on to bag a bronze medal in the 400m freestyle event after finishing behind Ariarne Titmus and Summer McIntosh. Moreover, she also contributed to her team's success in collecting a silver medal in the 4x200m freestyle.
Following her recent glorious victories, ESPN celebrated Ledecky as the swimmer with the second-most medals in Olympic history. However, the post drew transphobic comments directed at her, which many fans found demeaning. In response, one fan shared the post with derogatory comments and defended Ledecky, stating:
"All of these people just hate women. I can not take any of these people seriously."
One of the fans expressed their frustration, that instead of celebrating the swimmer as GOAT (Greatest Of All Time), she is being humiliated, calling the attitude reprehensible.
